Saturday Clothes and Other Things
I love this tree hanging out over the water. All year long it calls to me. In my younger days I would have climbed out on one of those big old branches and watched the world go by. I call it my Huck Finn tree, especially in the summer when it is draped with green and holds all the coolness of the forest in its leafy limbs.
It's Saturday after a long and busy week at work. Being with the kids all week was great and now I'm glad to be at home for the day to catch up on all sorts of errands and tasks. I have a list as long as my arm but none of it is too taxing or difficult and besides, it's Saturday! I fully intend to take some quality goof off time.
Do you remember Gordon Lightfoot's song, "Saturday Clothes?" That's what I'll be singing to myself today as I go about my business. I think I even have it on a CD somewhere in my car.
Speaking of music, the last two days have been so sunny and warm that I dug out an old Jimmy Buffet CD and sang along with all those fun old songs. I was never a parrothead but there's something about a Jimmy Buffet song that just makes you want to kick back, enjoy the sun and well, maybe have a marguerita....
What will you do on this fine Saturday?

Oh, on this fine saturday I had been working all day. Coming home I found your comment on my blog. Thank you so much!
Have a nice day,
kind regards from
Claudia!

Hi Mary. Have fun singing along w/Jimmy. I always liked that song too, makes me feel lazy like. Or that it's okay to be lazy.
Thanks for your comment on my blog esp re: the painting. By the way, I asked there but you prob havent seen it, just wondered if your relationship to noise/music playing while you work is different when you are writing than when you paint or do visual artwork. I listen to music when I paint, but need silence to write.
Today I went to see a craft fair, and did errands, and checked out a Wolf Kahn book from the library. I do like his work. Be well, Susan

Well, I sat home under the blankets and watched movies with my daughter! It was snowy and windy, grrr. But us girls had a fun day..and we even baked cookies! I love that tree, and Huck Finn is the perfect name for it.
Smiles, Karen

I have trees that I watch too. There is a buckey tree that I ride by nearly every day. it gets very interesting in the fall. and some huge oak trees, and a wild plum tree that you can pick the plums from as you ride by.
The swallows have come back to their nest in Janow's stall for the third year in a row. That's always exciting. It's time to start watching for kildeer to make their nests of pebbles and lay pebble colored egss.

Hi, thanks for your visit to my blog. What a great place to sit and pass some time. I too have my favourite trees and spend time talking to them....yes really. Hope no-one sees me though.....!!! I find spending time with nature inspires me with art and craftwork.

I love your blog! Your pictures make me homesick. I learned to sail at Camp Favorite in Brewster, and we had a house in Dennis growing up. Oh, how I miss the Cape!
