Many cities, both in Europe and here (and probably other places too but these are places I've been ;-) are filled with people who lovingly add flowers and greenery to their spaces in every way they can. The results of this are wonderful and surprising bursts of color on doorsteps, around light poles, in windowboxes and even the tiniest of porches, balconies or yards. In Amsterdam the roofs of houseboats offer even more opportunities for flowers. Enjoy.
Absolutely beautiful!

So beautiful, Mary! Glad you got to make this trip! And that you shared it with us! Also—that puppy is sooooo cute. If you show us any more pictures of him we may just break down here and get one!

So nice how you showed Amsterdam by catagories.
So good you had nice weather.
Your pictures are amazing, makes me want to leave the countryside here (I live in a very small town(call it a village).

Wow! really? I never new that Amsterdam is a City full of flowers. That's good. Wish that all of the cities are like that so they became more attractive. This must be seen by many. Thanks for sharing.

Great photos! This past Spring was my first in Amsterdam, I could not believe the flowers everywhere! Even now in as winter gets closer, Bloememaarkt (the flower market) is stocking up on winter hard plants and flowers... It's lovely!
